Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW YORK, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- The NBA announced Thursday San Antonio's Tim Duncan would be the Western Conference starting center at Sunday's All-Star Game.
Houston's Yao Ming was voted by fans to be the starting center for the West, but an injury will keep him out for the rest of the season.
Duncan had been named as a reserve this month. Instead, he will start for the 12th time. He is averaging a career-low 13.4 points, but his team will go into the All-Star break with the league's best record.
The game will be played in Los Angeles.
