COL BKB: Connecticut 78, Georgetown 70

HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Kemba Walker touched off a game-ending, nine-point run Wednesday that boosted No. 12 Connecticut over ninth-rated Georgetown 78-70.

Austin Freeman gave Georgetown a one-point lead on a layup with 3:54 to play and the Hoyas did not score again. Walker put the Huskies in front for good with 3:31 remaining and he scored five of the nine points Connecticut produced down the stretch.

Walker finished with 31 points and Jamal Coombs-McDaniel hit 8-of-11 from the field while adding 23 points off the bench.

Connecticut (20-5, 8-5 Big East) shot 54 percent from the field and limited Georgetown to 43 percent.

Chris Wright paced Georgetown (20-6, 9-5) with 19 points.
