COL BKB: Minnesota 62, Iowa 45

IOWA CITY, Iowa, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Trevor Mbakwe fired in 24 points Sunday and No. 25 Minnesota dispatched Iowa 62-45, breaking a four-game losing streak.

Mbakwe went 10-of-11 from the foul line and Rodney Williams stepped up with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Golden Gophers (17-8, 6-7 Big Ten), who won for the first time since a Jan. 26 victory over Northwestern.

Maverick Ahanmisi put in seven points in 11 minutes of playing time, partially making up for an off-game from Blake Hoffarber, who was limited to six points for the Gophers.

Bryce Cartwright had 11 points for the Hawkeyes (10-15, 3-10), who managed only 34 percent shooting and were 6-of-28 from 3-point territory.
