NHL: Buffalo 7, Tampa Bay 4

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Drew Stafford scored three times and Thomas Vanek added two goals and an assist Tuesday in the Buffalo Sabres' 7-4 rout of Tampa Bay.

Trailing 3-2 after two periods, Buffalo exploded for five straight goals to start the third, with Stafford notching the final two tallies less than 2 minutes apart to make 7-3.

Jordan Leopold scored and added two helpers, Tim Connolly also found the net and Tyler Ennis chipped in with a pair of assists for the Sabres, who have scored 13 goals in their last two games while notching their 11th win in 16 contests.

Ryan Miller turned aside 30-of-34 shots in the win.

Sean Bergenheim and Vincent Lecavalier each scored twice and Dwayne Roloson yielded all seven goals on 28 shots for the Bolts, who maintained a three-point lead over Washington in the Southeast Division despite the loss.
