SYRACUSE, N.Y., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Hollis Thompson's 3-pointer with 3:49 to play Wednesday started a game-ending run that carried No. 11 Georgetown to a 64-56 victory over 13th-ranked Syracuse.

The Hoyas won their seventh straight, a streak that began after Georgetown had opened the Big East Conference campaign by losing four out of five.

Syracuse had a 55-52 lead when Thompson made his 3-pointer and the Hoyas went on to finish the game on a 12-1 surge.

Austin Freeman scored 14 points to lead Georgetown (19-5, 8-4 Big East). Julian Vaughn and Jason Clark both had 12 points, with Clark producing four during the late outburst.

Kris Joseph scored 14 points for Syracuse (20-5, 7-5), which has lost five of its last seven.

Georgetown made 9-of-21 from 3-point range and limited Syracuse to 39 percent shooting from the field.
