Feb. 8, 2011 at 11:00 PM   |   Comments

NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Mattias Tedenby's second goal of the game came 2:42 into overtime Tuesday and handed the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 victory over Carolina.

Tedenby's wrist shot past Cam Ward completed a New Jersey comeback that saw the Devils tie the game with 3 minutes remaining in regulation time on Nick Palmieri's marker.

Tedenby also found the net in the second period, Colin White added a pair of assists and Johan Hedberg -- starting in place of injured Martin Brodeur -- turned aside 20-of-22 shots for the Devils, who improved to 10-1-2 in their last 13 games.

Carolina, meanwhile, lost for the fifth time in six road contests.

Jeff Skinner scored twice and Ward ended with 31 saves in the Hurricanes' setback.
