CLEVELAND, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Ohio State football recruit Chris Carter won't be charged in a case stemming from alleged sexual improprieties, authorities announced Monday.
Cleveland city prosecutors have decided not to bring charges against the high school football standout, clearing his way to sign a letter of intent with the Buckeyes, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
"After a full review, there was not enough evidence of sexual contact to charge Mr. Carter with a crime," Cleveland city spokeswoman Maureen Harper told the newspaper.
Carter, an offensive lineman from Cleveland John F. Kennedy High School, was accused of fondling girls at his school while measuring them for ROTC uniforms.
The newspaper said OSU officials have held a spot on the 2011 recruiting class open for Carter while his case was being decided.
