BOSTON, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Boston Celtics swingman Marquis Daniels will miss 1-to-2 months with a bruised spinal cord suffered during a fall, the team said Monday.
Concern mounted for Daniels after he was taken off the floor on a stretcher during Sunday's 91-80 win over the Orlando Magic following a collision with Gilbert Arenas in the second quarter.
But an examination after the game revealed he had full movement and was responding to doctors.
Celtics General Manager Danny Ainge said Daniels will miss "a month, two months. It'll be a month, anyway," the Boston Herald reported.
"I saw him at the hospital. I think he was scared when he was out on the court, because he couldn't move for a short period of time, so that scared him."
"Difficult moment," Celtics forward Kevin Garnett added. "But we got some good news, as opposed to what we were looking at, because it really looked bad."
