ARLINGTON, Texas, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- The weather in North Texas turned warmer Saturday as football fans poured into the area for Super Bowl XLV, but more precipitation was possible.

After a week of frigid temperatures and dangerous conditions caused by snow and ice, the mercury broke the freezing mark Saturday and officials of the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Airport said there were no flight delays, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Airport spokesman David Magana told the newspaper the airport was back to normal operations, but added officials were keeping a sharp eye out for further ice, snow or sleet.

The National Weather Service forecast for Super Bowl Sunday called for a 40 percent chance of rain of snow with a high of 42 degrees. Icy patches and freezing fog were in the forecast for Sunday morning with a cold front arriving about midday, bringing the chance of more rain or snow.

Two storms hit the Arlington, Texas, this week, in the run-up to the Super Bowl -- the first brought widespread icing while the second deposited several inches of heavy snow in parts of North Texas.
