NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Rostislav Olesz scored 2 minutes into the overtime period Friday to give the Florida Panthers a 4-3 victory over New Jersey.

A routine wrist shot from the right circle baffled Johan Hedberg and the goal allowed the Panthers to snap a three-game losing streak.

Florida's Mike Santorelli scored the only goal of the third period to force overtime. Travis Zajac and Jason Arnott also tallied for the Panthers in the first period, which ended in a 2-2 tie.

Tomas Vokoun stopped 28 shots to get the victory. New Jersey lost for just the second time in eight games. Hedberg made 24 saves.

The teams have met three times this season with Florida having won twice.
