ANTWERP, Belgium, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Australian Open champion Kim Clijsters was given the second match for Belgium in this weekend's Fed Cup quarterfinal series against the United States.
Clijsters collected her fourth Grand Slam title when she won the Australian Open last Saturday. She will go against Melanie Oudin in her first Fed Cup match this Saturday.
The best-of-five series is to open with American Bethanie Mattek-Sands playing Yanina Wickmayer on an indoor hard court in Antwerp, Belgium.
Clijsters draws Mattek-Sands and Oudin goes against Wickmayer in Sunday's reverse singles.
If the singles matches are split, the series will be decided in a doubles match between the U.S. team of Liezel Huber and Vania King and Belgians Kirsten Flipkens and An-Sophie Mestach.
The United States, with Huber, Mattek-Sands and Oudin playing, has advanced to the Fed Cup finals each of the last two years but hasn't won the cup since 2000.
