COL BKB: Villanova 75, Marquette 70

VILLANOVA, Pa., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Mouphtaou Yarou led an outstanding shooting performance from the foul line Wednesday that boosted No. 12 Villanova to a 75-70 victory over Marquette.

Villanova had lost three of its previous four games, but went 29-of-33 in free throw opportunities to fight off the Golden Eagles.

Yarou, Corey Fisher and Antonio Pena combined to go 22-of-25 from the line. Yarou finished with 18 points, Fisher had 17 and both Pena and Corey Stokes scored 14 for the Wildcats (18-4, 6-3 Big East).

Jimmy Butler and Darius Johnson-Odom delivered 15 each for Marquette (14-9, 5-5). The Golden Eagles were playing their seventh ranked opponent in eight games.
