NHL: Colorado at St. Louis, ppd., snow

Feb. 1, 2011 at 7:21 PM   |   Comments

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A game between the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues was postponed Tuesday due to a winter storm warning in St. Louis.

Blues Chief Executive Mike McCarthy said the postponement was "due to the concerns and safety of our fans, players and staff."

Forecasters predicted Tuesday afternoon that the city would receive somewhere between 8 to 10 inches of snow, with areas west and north of St. Louis in line for significantly more, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

A makeup date for the game will be determined later by the NHL.
