LA JOLLA, Calif., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Phil Mickelson used a 4-under-par 68 Saturday to join Bill Haas atop the leaderboard after three rounds of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

Mickelson put himself on track for his first win of 2011 season with his performance, in which he fired five birdies and a bogey on the South Course to move to 12-under 204.

Mickelson has won 25 of the last 33 tournaments in which he has held at least a share of the lead after 54 holes.

Haas, meanwhile, blew a chance to retain sole possession of the lead when he missed a 4-foot par putt at on the 18th. He stumbled to a 1-under 71 with after entering with two-shot advantage.

Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson were knotted for third place at minus-11 after both eagled the par-five 18th.

Tiger Woods, making his 2011 PGA debut, couldn't parlay his past successes at Torrey Woods into a good round Saturday, shooting a 2-over 74 to finish eight shots back at 4-under 212.
