ARLINGTON, Texas, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Catcher-first baseman Mike Napoli's off-season odyssey continued Tuesday with his trade from Toronto to the Texas Rangers.
The Rangers sent the Blue Jays pitcher Frank Francisco and cash considerations in return.
Napoli, who is unsigned and eligible for salary arbitration this year, had just been traded by the Los Angeles Angels to Toronto Friday in a deal that also included Angels outfielder Juan Rivera in exchange for Jays center fielder Vernon Wells.
Napoli, 29, hit a personal-best 26 homers with 68 RBI in 140 games in 2010 when the Angels used him mostly at first base. He is a career .251 hitter.
Francisco, a 31-year-old right-hander, went 6-4 with a 3.76 ERA and two saves in 56 appearances for Texas last season but missed the final five weeks of the regular season and the entire post-season with a right latissimus dorci muscle strain. He recorded 25 saves in 2009.
