DALLAS, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- The Dallas Mavericks have signed free-agent forward Peja Stojakovic and dealt center Alexis Ajinca to Toronto, the team said Monday.
The Mavs' move in signing Stojakovic had been expected since the Raptors bought the 12-year NBA veteran out of his contract last week. He has missed the last 26 games with Toronto due to a sore left knee.
The Raptors had acquired the 33-year-old Stojakovic in November along with guard Jerryd Bayless from the New Orleans Hornets for guards Jarrett Jack, Marcus Banks and center David Andersen.
Meanwhile, Dallas sent Ajinca, a second-round draft pick and cash considerations to Toronto in exchange for the draft rights to Greek forward Giorgos Printezis.
Ajinca, 22, averaged 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10 games with the Mavericks this season.
Printezis was selected in the 2007 draft by the San Antonio Spurs. His rights were later traded to Toronto in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2008 draft.
