PHOENIX, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks said Monday they have acquired right-handed pitcher Armando Galarraga from Detroit for a pair of minor-league pitchers.
Galarraga, who missed a perfect game in June due to an umpire's blown call, will go to Arizona in exchange for right-handed pitcher Kevin Eichhorn and lefty Ryan Robowski.
Galarraga, 29, compiled a 4-9 with a 4.49 ERA for the Tigers last season. His near-perfect game came June 2 when, with two outs in the ninth inning, umpire Jim Joyce incorrectly called Cleveland's Jason Donald safe at first on a close play.
Galarraga went on to complete a one-hit, 3-0 victory over the Tribe.
Eichhorn, 20, went 5-6 with a 5.00 ERA in 15 starts for three minor-league and rookie-league teams last year. Robowski, 22, compiled a 2-4 record and 5.17 ERA in 35 relief appearances for Class-A Visalia.
