BOSTON, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard has been diagnosed with his second concussion in 10 months, putting him out of action indefinitely, the team said Monday.

Savard suffered the latest injury when he was driven into the boards by Colorado defenseman Matt Hunwick during Saturday's Bruins victory over the Avalanche. He left the ice dazed and bloodied.

"After being examined by the Bruins medical staff (Monday), Marc has been diagnosed with a moderate concussion," General Manager Peter Chiarelli said, "There is no timetable on his return."

Savard, 33, received a concussion last March on a hit delivered by Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke. He sat out the remainder of the 2009-10 regular season, returned for a playoff series against Philadelphia, and then missed the first 23 games of the current season with recurring concussion symptoms.
