EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- The Minnesota Vikings have hired Bill Musgrave as their offensive coordinator and Fred Pagac to run their defense, the team announced Wednesday.

Minnesota also hired former San Francisco 49ers head Coach Mike Singletary as special assistant to Vikings head Coach Leslie Frazier and as the team's linebackers coach.

Musgrave, a former NFL quarterback, comes to the Vikings after five seasons in Atlanta as the Falcons' quarterbacks coach, helping guide the team to a 13-3 record and the NFC's No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Pagac, meanwhile, got a promotion after serving five seasons as the Vikings linebackers coach.

Also named to the Vikings' coaching staff was Mike Priefer, who takes over as special teams coordinator. Priefer, a nine-year NFL coaching veteran, comes to Minnesota from Denver where he was the Broncos' special teams' coordinator.
