TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- JaMychal Green's 18 points and 11 rebounds helped Alabama knock off 12th-ranked Kentucky 68-66 Tuesday.

Green's double-double, which included seven offensive boards, came mainly against Kentucky (14-4, 2-2 SEC) freshman Terrence Jones, who chalked up 17 points and nine rebounds.

Tony Mitchell scored 15 for the unranked Crimson Tide (11-7, 3-1), who are in first place in the SEC West.

Doron Lamb scored 16 for the Wildcats and Brandon Knight added 14. Kentucky shot a tepid 37.7 percent from the field.

Alabama led 37-30 at halftime and held on despite Knight's 3-pointer with 1:38 to play that cut the Tide's lead to 67-66.
