NEW YORK, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas has been suspended for one game for his flagrant foul against New Orleans' Emeka Okafor, the NBA said Monday.

Thomas won't be paid as he sits out Charlotte's game at Philadelphia Monday night.

He was penalized for elbowing Okafor in the head late in the fourth quarter of an 88-81 loss to the Hornets Saturday. He was ejected from the game after the foul.
