PITTSBURGH, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Nasir Robinson pumped in 21 points and fourth-ranked Pittsburgh parlayed an opening 19-0 run into a 74-66 victory over No. 3 Syracuse Monday.

Robinson grabbed seven rebounds and Brad Wanamaker contributed 15 points, five assists and six boards for the Panthers (18-1, 6-0 Big East), who knocked Syracuse from the ranks of the unbeaten and improved to 51-1 in their last 52 home games.

Robinson scored the game's first nine points as Pitt jumped off to the huge lead but then surrendered 17 straight points to the Orange.

Gilbert Brown added 12 points and seven rebounds and Ashton Gibbs chipped in with 11 points for Pitt.

Syracuse (18-1, 5-1) fell short in its bid to tie a school record for most wins starting a season.

C.J. Fair netted 16 points and collected nine rebounds but Scoop Jardine was limited to 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting in the Orange's first loss.
