DETROIT, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Johan Franzen's slap shot 45 seconds into overtime found the net Saturday, handing the Detroit Red Wings a 6-5 victory over Columbus.

Franzen got the puck from Henrik Zetterberg in the right circle and put it over the left shoulder of Blue Jackets goalie Steve Mason for the game-winner.

The goal snapped the Wings' two-game losing streak.

Drew Miller chipped in with a goal and two assists, and Kris Draper and Jonathan Ericsson each logged a goal and an assist for Detroit.

Brian Rafalski and Valtteri Filppula also scored for the Wings to back Joey MacDonald, who made 25 saves in net.

Columbus, meanwhile, lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Rich Nash led the Blue Jackets with a goal and two assists. Grant Clitsome and Derick Brassard each registered a goal and an assist and Matt Calvert and R.J. Umberger both scored in the setback.

Mason ended with 28 saves on 34 shots for the Jackets.
