COL BKB: Villanova 88 Louisville 74

VILLANOVA, Pa., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Corey Stokes scored 23 points Wednesday and helped No. 7 Villanova dominate the second half on its way to an 88-74 victory over 17th-ranked Louisville.

The Wildcats won their 10th straight game.

Villanova led by one point at halftime but steadily pulled away over the final 20 minutes. The Wildcats ran their record to 15-1 and remained in a share of the Big East Conference lead at 4-0.

Mouphtaou Yarou added a career-best 18 points and Corey Fisher had 17 for the Wildcats, who made 56 percent of their shots from the floor, hit 19-of-23 from the foul line and connected on 8-of-13 from 3-point range.

Preston Knowles hit six 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead Louisville (13-3, 2-1).
