NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 109, New York 87

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored 27 points and the Los Angeles Lakers posted a big rebounding advantage Sunday in their 109-87 victory over the New York Knicks.

Bryant grabbed 10 rebounds, Pau Gasol collected 14 boards to go with 20 points and Lamar Odom came off the bench to haul down 18 rebounds for the Lakers, who outrebounded the Knicks 61-42 for the contest.

Odom added 13 points, Andrew Bynum chipped in with 18 points and seven rebounds and Shannon Brown scored 16 off the bench as Los Angeles notched its fourth straight win after a rough December.

Amare Stoudemire put in 23 points, collected 10 rebounds and blocked six shots for the Knicks, who had a nine-game winning streak against Western Conference opponents snapped.

Wilson Chandler added 19 points for New York.
