MONTREAL, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Max Pacioretty's tip-in goal with 1:17 left in overtime Saturday sealed the Montreal Canadiens' 3-2 comeback victory over Boston.

Trailing 2-0 entering the third period, the Canadiens rallied with two goals and Pacioretty capped the comeback in the extra frame by tipping in P.K. Subban's centering pass on a 2-on-1 rush.

Scott Gomez found the net with 2:22 left in regulation to pull the Habs to within a goal. Then with 48 seconds remaining, Boston tied it when Brian Gionta scored on a tip-in to force overtime.

The Canadiens' win put them in a tie with Boston atop the Northeast Division at 49 points.

Carey Price made 27 saves for Montreal.

Patrice Bergeron scored twice for the Bruins and Tim Thomas turned aside 39 shots.
