INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Nick Folk's 32-yard field goal on the last play of the game Saturday carried the New York Jets to a 17-16 NFL wild-card playoff victory over Indianapolis.

Folk calmly booted the game-winner after Mark Sanchez drove the Jets 40 yards on five plays, responding to Adam Vinatieri's 50-yard field goal that had given Indianapolis a 16-14 advantage with 53 seconds remaining.

The winning drive was set up when Antonio Cromartie returned the kickoff 47 yards and was highlighted by Braylon Edwards' leaping, 18-yard catch along the right sideline that moved the ball to the Colts' 14-yard line.

Sanchez went 18-of-31 passing for 189 yards and an interception. LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 16 carries for the Jets, who avenged their loss to the Colts in last year's AFC title game.

They now go on to face the New England Patriots next week.

Payton Manning completed 18-of-26 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown.

Pierre Garcon made five grabs for 112 yards and a score for the Colts.
