Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Casey Mitchell pumped in 28 points Saturday and West Virginia handed No. 13 Georgetown its second straight loss in a 65-59 decision.
Mitchell connected on four 3-pointers and Kevin Jones added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Mountaineers (10-4, 2-2 Big East).
West Virginia had to hold off a determined late-game comeback try by the Hoyas, but Georgetown didn't help its own cause with four key turnovers in the final 4 minutes.
Jason Clark netted 16 points for Georgetown (12-4, 1-3), which was hoping to rebound from Monday's 61-58 loss at St. John's but fell short.
