SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Kawhi Leonard scored 20 points and D.J. Gay added 18 Saturday in No. 6 San Diego State's 71-62 victory over Utah, the Aztecs' 17th straight win.

Gay scored 15 of his points in the second half, and Malcolm Thomas contributed 17 points and 14 rebounds for San Diego State (17-0, 2-0 MWC), which continued the nation's second-longest winning streak.

Josh Watkins scored 24 points for the Utes (7-9, 0-2).

Will Clyburn collected 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Utah's sixth straight loss.
