PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Jodie Meeks scored 24 points Friday in helping Philadelphia open a big fourth-quarter lead and the 76ers held on to defeat Chicago 105-99.

Meeks made 8-of-11 shots from the field and Lou Williams contributed two late baskets to put down a comeback bid by the Bulls. Williams finished with 20 points and Jrue Holiday had 19.

When the teams last met, four days before Christmas, Chicago won by 45 points. This time the 76ers built a 12-point advantage early in the final period and shot 56 percent.

Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 31 points and 13 rebounds. Derrick Rose had 27 points and nine assists.

Philadelphia trailed by two at halftime, and then hit its first nine field goal attempts in the third period to take the lead for good.
