NBA: Boston 122, Toronto 102

BOSTON, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce led an outstanding Boston shooting effort Friday that sent the Celtics rolling to a 122-102 victory over Toronto.

The Celtics shot 63 percent from the field in the opening quarter and hit 57 percent for the game. They made 11-of-21 from 3-point range.

Boston won its fourth in a row, with Pierce scoring 20 points. Ray Allen, Nate Robinson and Luke Harangody all had 17.

The Celtics built a 22-point halftime lead and improved the best record in the Eastern Conference to 28-7.

Toronto was led by DeMar DeRozan with 20 points.

It was the fourth and final meeting between the teams this season. Boston won the series 3-1 and has captured 11 of its last 12 contests with the Raptors.
