NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Four Pittsburgh Penguins and two Chicago Blackhawks were among the six all-stars voted in by fans, the NHL announced Tuesday.

Fan balloting accounts for six of the 42 players to be named to the NHL All-Star Game under a revamped format. The remaining 36 all-stars will be chosen by the NHL and announced Jan. 11 for the Jan. 30 contest in Raleigh, N.C.

There will be no East versus West format as in past years. Instead, two captains picked by the players will choose up sides on an alternating basis.

The top vote-getter was Crosby with 635,509 ballots. Letang was next with 477,960 votes followed by Fleury with 426,305, the NHL said.
