Wade, Billups earn NBA honors

NEW YORK, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- The NBA Monday named Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Denver Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups its conference players of the week.

Wade earned the Eastern Conference honors by averaging 36.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals as the Heat went 3-0 in the past week.

In taking the Western Conference award, Billups averaged 25.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds while the Nuggets went 3-0. He shot an NBA-best .846 from 3-point range.

Others considered for the weekly awards were Chicago's Derrick Rose, Golden State's Dorell Wright, New Orleans' Chris Paul and Orlando's Dwight Howard.
