LOS ANGELES, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Jonathan Toews was credited with an unassisted, go-ahead goal on a third-period deflection Monday and the Chicago Blackhawks downed Los Angeles 4-3.

A crazy bounce behind the Kings' net put the puck at the skates of Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty, who attempted to clear it but instead bounced it off Toews' stick and into the net for the decisive tally.

Patrick Sharp scored a pair of goals and added an assist and Marian Hossa scored for the Blackhawks, who beat the Kings for the sixth straight time and broke a three-game losing streak.

Corey Crawford made 26 saves for Chicago.

The Kings dropped their fourth straight despite two goals from Ryan Smyth and one by Michal Handzus.

Jonathan Quick let in four goals on 28 shots for Los Angeles.
