NBA: Utah 102, Detroit 97

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Raja Bell connected on a 3-pointer in the final minute Monday and the Utah Jazz hung on for a 102-97 victory over Detroit.

Bell (11 points) broke a 95-95 tie with a 24-foot jumper from beyond the arc with 50 seconds left and, after Greg Monroe scored for the Pistons, sank a pair of foul shots with 17 seconds remaining to ice Utah's seventh win in 10 games.

Deron Williams led the Jazz with 22 points, going 13-for-13 from the free throw line, and Al Jefferson chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Jazz got 15 points from Andrei Kirilenko and Paul Millsap added 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Tayshaun Prince led the Pistons with 26 points and Richard Hamilton chipped in with 15 off the bench.
