EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Joe McKnight powered his way to 158 yards on 32 carries Sunday and the New York Jets pounded Buffalo 38-7 in the regular-season finales for both teams.
McKnight led a squad of mostly Jets reserves to the big win, in which Mark Brunell played three quarters, going 6-of-12 for 110 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes each grabbed a TD toss, John Conner scored on the ground and Marquice Cole returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown for the Jets (11-5).
The Bills (4-12), meanwhile, finished their 11th straight season without a post-season berth, extending a team record for futility.
Brian Brohm led Buffalo by going 10-of-23 through the air for 106 yards but was intercepted three times.
