INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Adam Vinatieri booted a 43-yard field goal as time ran out Sunday, lifting the Indianapolis Colts to a 23-20 victory over Tennessee.
Vinatieri made the winning kick after the Colts recovered a fumbled Titans snap.
Indianapolis (10-6) won the AFC South title for the seventh time in eight years and will be making its ninth straight playoff appearance, equaling an NFL record. The Colts technically won the division before their victory due to Jacksonville's loss to Houston.
Peyton Manning completed 27-of-41 pass attempts for 264 yards, two TDs and no interceptions and Pierre Garcon collected seven passes for 78 yards for the Colts.
The Titans (6-10) sputtered to a poor finish, dropping their eighth game in nine contests in what may have been Coach Jeff Fisher's last game at Tennessee.
Kerry Collins went 28-of-39 passing for 300 yards, two scores and no pickoffs in the loss.
