DETROIT, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Shaun Hill tossed for 258 yards Sunday and the Detroit Lions downed Minnesota 20-13 in what was likely the last game of Brett Favre's legendary career.
The Vikings quarterback, who has said he would retire at the end of the year, was inactive during the game due to the lingering effects of a concussion.
The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer thus ended his illustrious career on the bench, watching the game from the sidelines, barring another comeback try next season.
Hill hurled a TD pass, going 28-for-39 through the air with an interception for the Lions (6-10), who put together their first four-game winning streak since 1999 to end the season.
Nate Burleson made six catches for 83 yards and a score for the victors.
Joe Webb replaced Favre for the second straight game and went 19-for-31 with 133 yards and an interception as the Vikings (6-10) lost for the third time in four games to end the season.
