BRISBANE, Australia, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Denis Istomin and Feliciano Lopez collected straight-set wins Sunday at the Brisbane International tennis tournament in Australia.
Istomin ousted Thiemo De Bakker 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 without dropping his serve. Istomin won a healthy 78 percent of the points on serve.

De Bakker didn't face a break point in the first set but dropped the tie-breaker and suffered the only service break of the match in the second set.
Lopez was a 6-4, 7-6 (13-11) winner over Philipp Petzschner behind an 11-ace attack. Nine of his aces came in the second set.
