ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Jason Blake and Lubomir Visnovsky scored two goals each Friday, propelling the Anaheim Ducks to their third win in five games, 5-2 over Philadelphia.
The Ducks grabbed a 3-0 lead, then fought off a comeback bid by the Flyers. Philadelphia has lost three out of four following a five-game winning streak and has surrendered 20 goals in those last four outings.
Blake scored the only goal of the first period. Visnovsky and Blake tallied 2 minutes apart early in the second.
Philadelphia closed within one during the opening minutes of the third but Bobby Ryan gave the Ducks some breathing room and Visnovsky finished the scoring with 3:10 to play.
Jonas Hiller made 35 saves in the victory. All five Anaheim goals came against Sergei Bobrovsky, who stopped 22 shots.
