COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Nathan Walkup gave Texas A&M its first lead of the game midway through the second half Friday and the No. 18 Aggies went on to down McNeese State 66-57.
McNeese owned a seven-point lead at halftime and still had a five-point advantage with 14:28 to play. The Cowboys, however, managed only one point over the next 7:26 while the Aggies were rallying.
Walkup's layup put the Aggies in front 47-45 and they never trailed again.
Khris Middleton scored 13 points and had eight rebounds for Texas A&M (12-1), which has won nine in a row since falling to Boston College Nov. 25. Walkup added 10 points.
P.J. Alawoya and Patrick Richard both scored 12 points for McNeese (8-5). The Cowboys had won their previous two games.
