Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Chase Tapley and James Rahon had 15 points each Friday to send No. 7 and unbeaten San Diego State rolling to a 93-50 victory over Occidental.
The Aztecs (15-0) are off to the best start in school history.
San Diego State shot 61 percent from the field and gave up only 13 rebounds to Occidental, which is a member of Division III. It was the first meeting between the schools in 57 years.
The Aztecs had a 42-24 halftime lead and then began the second period with a 13-4 run.
Malcolm Thomas and Kawhi Leonard added 14 points each for the Aztecs and Leonard had 10 rebounds.
The Tigers (5-4) were led by Deshun McCoy with 18 points.
San Diego State won at home for the 12th straight time.
