ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Two 3-pointers from Jason Richardson helped the Orlando Magic pull away over the final 4 minutes Thursday to a 112-103 victory over New York.
The Magic had only a two-point advantage with 4 minutes to play but finished the game with a 14-7 run that included a pair of clutch shots from Richardson.
Dwight Howard scored 24 points and had 18 rebounds to lead Orlando and the Magic got a combined 36 points from Richardson, Gilbert Arenas and Hedo Turkoglu. Orlando obtained those three players in a three-team trade this month.
The Magic lost their first two games after the trade but have won five in a row since then.
Amare Stoudemire had 30 points for the Knicks and Wilson Chandler contributed 29. New York has lost five out of seven.
