COL BKB: Memphis 88, Lipscomb 70

MEMPHIS, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Wesley Witherspoon made 10-of-14 shots from the field and scored 28 points Thursday in pacing No. 22 Memphis to an 88-70 win over Lipscomb.

It was the first game for the Tigers since they suffered an 86-69 whipping at the hands of Georgetown one week ago.

Memphis went on a nine-point run while holding Lipscomb scoreless for 3:30 midway through the first period and eventually took a 42-33 halftime lead.

Charles Holt scored 15 points off the bench for Memphis (10-2) and Joe Jackson had 13.

The Bison (7-4) were led by 22 points from Adnan Hodzic with 22 points. Lipscomb has dropped two straight after winning five in a row.
