Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CHICAGO, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Chicago Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews will be out of action for about two weeks with an upper-body injury, Coach Joel Quenneville said Wednesday.
The 22-year-old team captain has 15 goals and 18 assists in 38 games this season, ranking him second on the team in total points behind Patrick Sharp.
Toews hurt his right shoulder when he was hit by St. Louis forward Matt D'Agostini in the first period of a loss to the Blues Tuesday.
The Blackhawks are 20-15-3 for 43, tying them with the Blues for second place in the Western Conference's Central Division.
