SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Dustin Brown scored twice during a four-goal, third-period outburst Monday that staked the Los Angeles Kings to a 4-0 whitewash of San Jose.
The game was scoreless when Trevor Lewis broke the ice with a goal 2:08 into the third. Former Shark Marco Sturm followed with his first goal as a King 69 seconds later.
Brown made it 3-0 a bit over 3 minutes later, scoring from the right circle on the rebound of a Drew Doughty slap shot, and then got his 16th goal of the year with 2 minutes left to finish the scoring.
Jonathan Quick recorded his fourth shutout of the season, stopping all 24 shots for Los Angeles, which took its fourth straight.
Antti Niemi yielded all four goals on 37 shots for San Jose, which saw its own four-game winning streak snapped.
