ST. LOUIS, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Forward Patrick Kane, out nearly three weeks with an ankle injury, was cleared to play for the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday at St. Louis, the team said.

Kane, 22, has 11 goals and 16 assists in 28 games this season.

He hurt his left ankle in a Dec. 5 game against Calgary when he fell awkwardly against the boards.

Kane said after practice Monday that he was ready to return to action and Coach Joel Quenneville agreed.

The Blackhawks will be without forward Fernando Pisani, however, due to illness. Pisani has five goals and five assists.
