BOSTON, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- A shorthanded goal by Patrice Bergeron 3 minutes into the game Thursday ignited the Boston Bruins to a 4-1 victory over Atlanta.
Tim Thomas made 27 saves, allowed only a second-period goal to Dustin Byfuglien and remained one shy of his sixth shutout of the season. His single-season best has been five shutouts, a number he has reached each of the last three years.
