KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Oscar Bellfield's 3-pointer with 1:11 left proved decisive Tuesday in Nevada-Las Vegas' 63-59 decision over No. 11 Kansas State.
The Wildcats had pulled to within two points at 56-54 when Bellfield connected on his key trey, giving the Rebels (11-2) the momentum they needed to log their first win over a team ranked 11th or higher since 2007.
Tre'Von Willis contributed 16 points and Anthony Marshall chipped in with 11 points in a reserve role for the victors.
Kansas State (9-3) was hampered by the absence of their top two scorers, seniors Jacob Pullen and Curtis Kelly, who were ruled ineligible by school officials before the game for secondary violations of NCAA rules.
Nick Russell led the Wildcats with 12 points in their absence.
