Jets sued over 2008 Seattle snowball fight

SEATTLE, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- A Seattle-area man is suing the New York Jets over a post-game snowball fight in 2008 he says amounted to assault and battery.

Robert Larsen, 52, says he suffered injuries to his neck in the incident at Qwest Field that will cost him in terms of lost income and even reduced life expectancy.

The New York Post said Tuesday that Larsen sued the Jets and defensive lineman Shaun Ellis for unspecified damages.

The incident took place Dec. 21, 2008, after the Seahawks beat the visiting Jets 13-3. A group of Seahawks fans were bombing Jets players with snowballs as they trudged toward the tunnel to their locker room.

At one point, Ellis heaved a chunk of snow back at the taunters that struck Larsen.

The Post said Larsen appeared unhurt in a video of the incident; however his lawyer said the pain set in once Larsen reached the parking lot and required him to go to the hospital.
